IPOD/laptop

1.  Do I have to run a mac to sync with my ipod.?

I'm in the process of buying a new laptop and a new phone.

Both my desktop, laptop and phones are going bad.

I need a lot of memory and excellent graphics on my laptop because of my Artista (sewing program) which is a dinosaur and eats up space.  Logos usually takes alot of space for me I have silver and what I like to call, "a few other books"

2. Anyone really into grahics and have a laptop they love. My toshiba satellite is 7 years old - can't believe it has outlasted my hp desktop.
