OBSERVATION: Text editing in forum text entry boxes produces random font size changes (BUG)

This has been a problem for years. An example of this here. I didn't do anything intentional to introduce the much larger text at the end of the penultimate paragraph; it just "happened". Usually, to rectify this, I will select the entire post and reset it with a single font, but I left this as is as an example. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?

Also, I intended to put this thread in the Forum forum, but surprisingly I couldn't find one. I went with Logos.com instead, but that seems overly broad. Seems like the Forum should have its own forum.

Today, my observations are two-for-one. Coffee

    Our forums are hosted using a third-party system we licensed many years ago.

    We currently do the minimum amount of work to keep the forums running, but have no plans to fix the many bugs or annoyances that have been reported over the years.

    Long-term, we'd like to migrate to a modern, hosted, supported solution that might include "groundbreaking" features such as a good editor or mobile support. [:D]
