notebooks

I am trying to use notebooks more. Not sure why yet. I haven't seen a need for it, but I hear it's good

Anyway, I am finding that a lot of notes I would like to have in more than one notebook, just like books can be in more than one collection.

e.g. I make notes in my Hebrew and Greek Old Testaments a lot. Various words. So one note will have a Hebrew definition and a Greek one. I could create separate notes, and that would create too much clutter.

I have a Hebrew notebook and a Greek notebook.

Some notes will belong in both

I would encourage you to identify a need for it before investing too much effort into using them. I find them helpful for grouping notes together and enabling me to choose which (associated icons) are visible in various resources. Others use them so they can share groups of notes with others - and so on

As it looks as though you have found out, notes can't be in more than one notebook.

However, notes can have multiple tags associated with them. Does that help you at all?

A note can only be in one notebook.

Now, as for accommodating your above scenario, I would suggest a different "structure" for your setup of notebooks, e.g. instead of two notebooks ("Hebrew" and "Greek") have one notebook "OT Wordstudy" (or whatever name you'd like) notebook into which you add any note for info about a Hebrew or Greek (LXX) word. All your notes with content about words specific to Hebrew or Greek go into this one notebook. That notebook would be for info on OT words in Hebrew or Greek.
You could then have another notebook for a different matter or category relating to your OT study (e.g. "OT history", "OT worship" etc.)

I hope you can understand what I try to convey ... hopefully it will be helpful, perhaps spark some more and even better ideas that will fit even better for your overall study situation.

I have never needed to search my notes for anything. I just go to a passage.
