Upcoming: Gods, Goddesses, and the Women Who Serve Them - Susan Ackerman

Actually, being in prepub, it's not yet available, even on Amazon:

And pretty Amazon-pricey, even the Kindle edition.
This is a book Logos has long needed, in the grouping of gods and deities.
I wouldn't even tag it as 'womens'. Female gods were pretty common in ancient times, and surprisingly show up quite a bit in the Old Testament. Of course, the prophet-writers didn't like them. But contra impressions, about 75% of Israelite leaders didn't limit themselves to solely YHWH worship (per Kings/Chronicles).
Especially good is the discussion of how female gods fit into royal functions. Jezebel would have been the norm. But Miriam in desert culture/travel, quite interesting.

36 USD on pre-pub for a 312 pp book is way tooooo much dinero, Denise.

So, you're not interest in the Handbook of Argumentation Theory for $778.84? It looks very interesting for apologetics, polemics, and preaching. [:)]

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.

For those not clear on 'Reader Editions', below is from an earlier discussion, with Ben clarifying.

Agreed, though I'm amazed it's cheaper on FL currently.

If the Handbook of Argumentation Theory is going to do the preaching for me, then I’ll invest on it right now 😂

The concept sounds fascinating. But I’ve paid less for high level Logos tiers 😰
