Although I'm pleased as punch to finally have these titles in the corpus, I'm extremely dissatisfied with the implementation. Not one of these titles is going to be ready for the release.

Knowing this I'm ready to pull my prepub order and wait for their delivery. FL you can't keep doing things like this and hope to maintain a happy customer base!

Can you add some detail? I don't understand your complaint.

I could be wrong about what FL is conveying, but notice asterisks after every resource. This would indicate to me that I won't be getting any volumes on 7/25/22. See screenshots below:

Every Pre-Pub that hasn't been published has those asterisks indicating that the resources referred to have not been published, because they have not been published.

Look at https://www.logos.com/product/190138/aquinas-institute-opera-omnia-project . Some of its volumes have already been released. They lack asterisks. Others have not. They have them.

    Nothing is wrong.

I have no idea what you mean, Beloved Amodeo. Could you please explain?

I can't form a more clear response than what I have presented above except to say FL seems to indicate that they will take $202 of my dollars and I will have the privilege of waiting for them to release the titles at some unstated time in the future à la ECC.

Yes, but SineNomine, the entire collection hasn't been published yet. I will not get a single resource. Am I wrong?

I can understand your confusion. I have not noticed this before (where pre-pubs have the asterisk).

For others: I think the controversy relates to another thread in which a user created a hyperlink to resources which 1) the user owns but 2) the books have not been "released" yet. The link is interesting, but a bit misleading if not understood.

FL does release packages with resources "not yet available." The link, however, shows many books which do not really fall into that category. Some users are seeing hundreds of books in that link, but there isn't any reason for concern over most of them because they fall into one of these categories:

    1. FLEB titles being converted to Logos. The user purchased the book, has access to it, but the book is not yet available in the Logos catalog. The user has everything they paid for, and will have the added benefit of an improved resource version at a later date.

    2. WordSearch Titles. Similar to FLEB titles, these are resources the user does already have access to, but the books are not yet available in the Logos store for new users. (They may or may not make it to the store, depending upon licensing agreements).

The more troubling issue is when base packages or collections have resources which have not been written yet. I think that Beloved's concern is that he will be charged soon, and not have access to any of these resources. Is that right Beloved?

In any case, if any of these resources won't be available when this ships, that should be clear now. I don't know why the asterisks are showing now when the resource collection is in pre-pub. Of course they aren't available!

I think so. In any case, you could always ask for a refund. If you cancel now, you will not get the discount.

Your best bet to get a definitive answer is to call FL directly.

Good advice, but I always start with the forums, except in rare cases.

Which is good, but in this case only FL itself can give you the answer you need.

Customer Service conveys an apology for the typos. The sole volume that is meant to have the asterisk is the Jonah volume and they fixed the page while I was on the phone and I show the refreshed view below. Thanks, everyone and especially JT. I'm now satisfied and reassured.

Notwithstanding what Faithlife staff later did, I still contend that nothing was wrong.

Consider, e.g., https://www.logos.com/product/40800/classic-studies-on-the-ancient-irish-church. Every resource has an asterisk, because none of them have been published as Faithlife resources. Whenever that "in production" Pre-Pub finally ships, whoever has ordered it will receive all of the resources... because that is when they will be published as Faithlife resources.

But the point is that with a "shipping soon" resource (as is the case with the Baylor Handbooks) most of those asterisks should not be there. And indeed it was a typo that more than one of the volumes had asterisks. Those are there to let people know that you can buy this resource and the ownership of all the volumes will come to you when it ships, but some of them won't have been completed yet and will download later.

When a bundle is about to ship, I would hope that not ALL of the volumes still have asterisks. Because as Beloved pointed out, he'd be charged at that time without receiving anything yet. Faithlife should in such cases hold off on saying the bundle is ready to ship until they have some of the volumes (and I'd say at least half of them) ready to go.

Fortunately it turned out to have been a typo. But it sounds like you were contending that nothing would have been wrong even if it hadn't been a typo.
