Preaching Theme Prophecies of Christ reference, Numbers 24:7-9

I've created a visual filter based on the preaching theme: "Prophecies of Christ" and find it very helpful. Visual filters are definitely one of my favorite Logos features! Today I came across a section in Numbers 24:15-25 (Balaam's 4th Oracle) that us marked as including this theme. I know there is some subjectivity here, but I would argue that verses 24:7-9 are also clearly Messianic in nature and should be tagged as such so they are included in the theme and thus my visual filter as well.

If you take a look at the book in your library titled "Preaching Themes: Dataset Documentation", you will find documentation on how Preaching Theme tagging was applied. In particular, you will note that tagging is applied at the level of pericopes, not individual verses. In addition, the tagging is only applied when a theme is "one of the most prominent ideas" in that passage. These two points explain why the passage you mention is not tagged.

Makes sense. Still, would be helpful if all commonly recognized Messianic verses would be tagged as such in some way that a search or other tool like visual filters could be applied. Thanks!

That raises another question. How are pericopes defined? I imagine that definitions vary and that the variation will impact what may be considered to be the most prominent ideas.

I suspect that they use the Logos pericope dataset although they may also use pericopes as defined by the source of the theme-pericope pairing.
