Bible Reading Plan: one chapter in OT, NT, Ps, Pr every day

What I'm trying to accomplish is setting up a Reading Plan that guides me to read one chapter every day from each of:

  • Old Testament
  • New Testament
  • Psalms
  • Proverbs

Ideally this would be an "at your own pace" plan.

The closest I've been able to find to build this type of plan is from this thread:

It seems like this should be a simple enough task to accomplish, but perhaps the Reading Plan tool is still too limited. Has anyone been able to create something like this?

    It seems like this should be a simple enough task to accomplish

    It is easier to set up 4 separate plans as indicated in that thread because it is the most flexible way to merge four separate readings to get one chapter per session i.e. 4 chapters/session in total. Any other method involves a very long series of chapters connected programmatically and manually!

    Hi Steven, I think the reading plan I use may be helpful.

    To setup the plan: Click the Docs Tab then New. Click on Reading plan.

    From the three options, click on “Generate a Reading Plan”

     A new Reading plan opens.

     Click on “All Passages

    In “New Reference range” Type in exactly: (Ge-Job; Ec-Mal | Ps | Pr | Mt-Re)

     Under title, Give it a title of your choice. Click Save.

    The new reference range will appear in the list of All Passages.

    Close the window.

     Start the process of creating a Bible Reading Plan.

    Your new reference range will appear in the “All Passages” drop-down menu. Click it.

    Then modify as to Default, Chapter or Periscope and your preferred Bible.

     This will mean that in a day you will read a portion of the Old Testament minus (Psalms and Proverbs), a portion of Psalms, a portion of Proverbs, and a portion of the New Testament.

     This is the Bible Reading Plan I am using currently.

     I set it to start from July 1 – December 31, 2022 (six months) using Default

     On July 1: Genesis 1-4, Psalm 1-2, Proverbs 1:1-7, Matthew 1-2

     Today, Aug 12: Numbers 25-26, Psalm 38:9-22, Proverbs 8:6-11, Luke 2:1-35.

     Tomorrow, Aug 13: Numbers 27-30, Psalm 39, Proverbs 8:12-16, Luke 2:36-3:20 etc.

     I am currently using this plan to read through the HCSB.

     From January 1 -June 30, 2022, I used it to read through NASB95.

     My habit is to read through two different Bible versions each year using this Bible Reading plan.

    It generates a reading from each of the 4 ranges, but the request was 1 chapter/day from each range. Your solution with Default avoids repetition to some extent by using multiple chapter and verse ranges. If Chapter is used it will not guarantee 4 readings per session no matter how many sessions you try.
