Word highlighting wrong in ESV and Strongs coding incorrect for DBL Greek.

when doing a word study on koitain I noticed that there were some weird results.

1.) The results of the search didn't highlight all of the phrase that came from the Greek word.

2.) The ESV had the definite article as the word "bed"

3.) In DBL Greek Strongs #3588 comes up as "mechri" "until" instead of the definite article. (not pictured)

Hi Robert.

1.) The results of the search didn't highlight all of the phrase that came from the Greek word.

2.) The ESV had the definite article as the word "bed"

Regarding 1: When you see italicized English words in the reverse interlinear "Surface" line, it indicates what we [Logos] call an "idiom" in this context. The underlying Greek is literally something like "having had intercourse" or "sharing a bed [with]" or something like that but the English translates the intended meaning rather than the specifically literal form. In other words, they don't strictly match up, but we know one comes from the other. That's why the whole phrase is highlighted as a unit, my guess is that for some reason the search highlights the first item (perhaps because KOITH is the first word in the idiom?) Not sure why exactly, I'll have to let Bradley handle that one.

Regarding 2: You'll note by the blue shaded background that it is the whole unit THN KOITHN that is associated with "bed", the words are left-justified. If you right-click on "bed" in the text, you'll see both lexical items are listed in the right-click.

On item 3, I'm unable to duplicate that -- I used G3588 in Ro 9.11 (under "forefather" in the rev int on that verse), right-clicked the number and linked directly to DBL. Ended up at DBL 3836 (which is the GK number) for the definite article, strongs 3588. Now, GK 3588 is MECHRI, so I'm guessing somehow you keylinked into DBL Greek with the number as a GK number instead of a strongs number. Not quite sure how. If you're able to reproduce it you might want to send the logs.
