Bug Report: Read Aloud

I don't see any of the 4.1 beta bugs reported in the Wiki. Do we not use that mechanism to report beta bugs anymore?

Specifically, I see a bug fix in the 4.1 beta 4 for Reading Lists: "Fixed display of smart quotes from wiki." I am wondering if you could also fix a long-standing bug in the Read Aloud feature: With certain commercially available voices (e.g. VW Paul and VW Kate from Neospeech), Logos doesn't know recognize smart apostrophes. Words like "don't" get pronounced as "don tee". "God's" is pronounced "God ess". I wonder if it would be relatively simple for Logos to strip out the apostrophe when sending the word stream to the text-to-speech engine. That will solve this problem. Please, please?

I must admit I have gotten way behind on copying my bug reports over to the wiki from the Forum. I was getting discouraged because so many of the ones that I'd reported over there which were really, really old, were not getting addressed, so I figured why bother? And I've had my hands full with everything else -- answering forum questions, wiki documentation, doing the JSOT Supplements document, etc.

I'd like to see something Rosie and I have written about before ...

A list of all bugs that Logos is tracking, along with a date, reference number, and status etc.

Then, once something is picked up from a forum post, it gets added to their list, given a ref number, and we can see its status on the list.

Then, of course, the Release Notes for 4.1 Beta 5 etc, can refer to those ref numbers and so on.

The Bugs Wiki appears to be a failed way to track status when its being driven from the users, not from Logos and their internal tracking systems.

For me, I'm more than happy to check some list somewhere, to see the current status of #12345, and to find its under internal testing, and then later to see its released in 4.1 Beta 7 etc.

Bugs reported in PC Beta generally receive recognition as such without having to report them in the wiki. In other forums they need to be prefixed by Bug: to be recognised amongst the many other threads for suggestions or help. Irrespective of that I will report many on the wiki to be sure they get attention.

This bug doesn't appear to have been filed in our database, but I've created a case for it now.

It should be fixed in an upcoming beta.

I've been emailing back and forth with Neospeech, Nextup, NaturalReaders, Acapela, etc to try to get this resolved from the voice vendors' end, but to no avail.

I use the Read Aloud feature frequently to do my Bible reading. Paul and Kate are the best voices I've come across except they have this little annoying problem with the apostrophes (they're much better than the built-in Anna voice.)
