How is it that FL doesn't offer:

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
The Lord of the Rings triology by JRR Tolkien
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis

...and yet FL offers some very questionable books that were discussed in another thread recently.

How is it that FL doesn't yet have these classic titles which are highly esteemed, especially in Christian circles? I think FL needs to prioritize and expediate these classic titles.

They have FL Feedback pages:

Hobbit: https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-book-requests/posts/the-hobbit
LOTR: https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-book-requests/posts/the-lord-of-the-rings-trilogy
Narnia: https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-book-requests/posts/c-s-lewis-titles

Vote 'em up!

Hopefully FL is listening and gets these titles soon. I will purchase pronto!

I guarantee these classic stories are referenced from pulpits every Sunday as illustrations. They are rich in imagery, symboliosm, and parallel the Christian story. Not sure why they're not offered by FL yet.

I imagine it’s a matter of the licensing cost

FL can't offer any resource they want... there are licensing agreements. Some publishers and authors aren't as amenable to having thier resources in the Logos catalog. In some cases, releasing the titles in FLEB <may> be an option... but not always. Would you want them as FLEB titles?

I do know that there were issues with CS Lewis works... but eventually many of his books were allowed as a collection.

Given the popularity of these resources, I'm sure Faithlife would love the have them.  However, as it has already been stated, it's probably a licensing issue.  As an example, the webpage for the CS Lewis Collection makes clear that this can only be sold as a collection.

I understand. I just want to know that FL is still actively TRYING to get these missing titles and is not giving up. They don't have to be Logos Editions to start with, they can just be FLEB to start with.

I imagine if they get those, they’ll want to do it in the final form.

Yes, although if their option is FL Ebook or nothing, I expect and hope they'll go with the FLEB.

I wish there was a way to be notified when resources that you have voted up at FL Feedback go on pre-pub or are published. As of right now, I just have to search for them every now and then and that is repetitive and frustrating.

I'm pretty sure that if you opt in to emails from Faithlife, Faithlife's marketing machine will let you know when these resources are available.

When they remember to, FL staff update the FL Feedback entry. Depending on your settings, you may then receive an automatic email notification.

I thought that was only true for the person who posted the  entry. I haven't seen where that is true for those who vote it up./.

Look at your "My Account" page on the Faithlife Feedback site. It's there.

If you are a USA citizen your best bet would be to write your politicians and request that your copyright laws reduce the length of copyright instead of extending them every time a large corporation donates to their reelection campaign. And yes, as a non-American I am bitter that extensions are forced on the rest of the world through trade agreements. Lewis has been dead for 59 years and Tolkien for 49. Why are multinational publishing companies still able to prevent the world from freely enjoying their works (in Logos)?

instead of extending them every time a large corporation donates to their reelection campaign.

In my part of the country, large corporate donations are far more frequent than changes in copyright law of any kind.

As I understand it (and that might be “very little”), the Tolkien family releasing his unfinished works a little at a time keeps the franchise covered.
