Glaring white on yellow background issue in Dark Mode on iPadOS

Hi,

I am doing a study/readthrough of "Sacred Rhythms" by Ruth Haley Barton with my church, and I tend to read the book on my iPad in Dark Mode to save myself eye strain. But at some point in each chapter there is some quote that is rendered on a yellow background, though the text is still white because of Dark Mode, making it next to impossible to read and I have to change my settings to Light Mode to see it.

Example:

As you can see, the white-on-yellow text is glaring and hard to read. I'm hoping that either the app can be tweaked to make the highlighting in the background to be darker or the text to be darker so that it becomes readable. I don't know if this is a problem in any other books, I've only seen it in this one, but it happens in EVERY chapter.

Thank you for your time and cooperation,

Kristene

    The workaround I found was a two-step:
    1. Select the text and add a highlight background, then
    2. Also pick a dark color for the foreground.
