Personal Book

Hi there. I have a question hoping someone can help with. I have a ton of sermons that I'm adding to Logos that will help me find previous parts of messages over the years. I'm adding them through the personal book builder and it works fine, but where it gives the option to choose the type associated with it (where default is Monograph) I would like it to be under sermon but don't seem to have that option. However, in the library under "type" there is a drop down called "sermons." Is this even possible or am I stuck with only the options given? I'm only adding the sermons from my laptop not to the Logos servers.

"sermon" is a special resource type that includes functionality you will not be able to provide via PBB. "Monograph" is your best option.

Is there something in particular you want to do with it, or did you just want to use that type because they are sermons?

The intent of FL is that you create Monographs and add sermon labels to make them behave like the sermons in Logos resources. There is a request to allow them to be added through Sermon Manager Import third-party sermon documents into Sermon Manager | Faithlife which is marked as in progress if you prefer to have them behave like your current sermons.

'In Progress' is an encouraging sign for requested features, but ff you're eager to get your sermons in Logos now, see this page in the Logos Wiki: https://wiki.logos.com/Sermon_and_Illustration_Support . This page is about the 'sermon labels' MJ. spoke of. Each sermon would have this little table and you would compile them in the Personal Book Tool as Type: Monograph. I think you will find the results very useful, as a properly tagged sermon will provide this functionality: 1.Appearance in Passage Guides and Topic Guides (in the 'Sermon' section), 2. An Index section at the bottom of the Table of Contents pane provides indexes for quick browsing by the metadata elements you supply (passage, date, tags, etc.).

I have attached an example of how I have done this, in case that helps.
