Reason to limit prioritizing?

Hello friends!

I heard Morris Proctor recommend prioritizing no more than 4 resources (Bibles, Commentaries, Lexicons, Dictionaries). Is there a reason for this? Does anyone follow this advice? Why? Thank you!

I disagree for groups where prioritization affects the order of resources in Guide sections where I prioritize all resources I care about the sequence of. I also use advanced prioritization to link resources such as study bibles that are tied to specific translations; here the limit is simply the number of resources I wish to link in this way.

Now my sorest point in using Logos is prioritizing, as I find myself never satisfied with the schemes I come up with.  I like to compare the notes of a lot of Translations and Study Bibles, I also like to use a multitude of Dictionaries and Lexicons, Commentaries end up so far down the list that they don't come up in searches very often.  Might be I have not become proficient at prioritizing, but presently it is a thorn.

I must learn further the ins and outs of prioritizing and the advanced prioritization MJ speaks of . Well now that I have a deficiency to focus on I guess its back to the help and training videos for me.[8-|]

Several years back, there was a significant push in the forums for FL to rework prioritization with some significant differences in opinion as to the minimum functionality required in the rework. Nothing was done and it remains a thorn in many users' side.

Personally, I think the current approach is good for basic use; maybe better grouping. I'd add an index-prioritizing choice (like Libby; many resources have multiple indices). Finally, advanced for hard-matching.

This week, Ugarit Database was popping up unexpectedly; I really hate to have try and locate all the 'oddball' indices, just for routine use.

Not realistic for Commentaries in Passage Guide where I have 4 collections and I want to prioritize at least 5 Series from each collection and allow for certain books which are better than a series equivalent! And I prioritize 18 lexicons because there are at least three types to consider (bible, theological, analytical) and three original-languages..

Then you have to consider different original-language bibles and native language bibles (18 prioritized).
