Logos keeps freezing up computer

I try to use Logos, but my computer keeps freezing up and I can't force quit because I get the spinning wheel and can't click on anything. Have to do a hard shutdown. I realize that the Mac version is not working real good right now, but it is useless to me since I start working in it and then it freezes up. Have contacted support, but have not heard back from them. Is there any possible solution that I might use to get it to work more than 5 minutes. I really like Logos better than Accordance, but it looks like I may have to use Accordance.

Have you allowed the downloading and indexing of resources to complete their cycle?

This can be a long process the first time that you do it and it is better left overnight to complete.

Trying to use the program before this has finished causes the symptoms that you describe.

Actually it is running pretty well now and should not be causing this kind of concern. Don't give up on it - you might have found a bug that if fixed will help a lot of other users.

By the way - just another thought - are you syncing a lot of other stuff from a windows installation?

If these are not the causes then I am sure that we will get to the bottom of the problem before long.

Try posting your logs here so that the developers can analyse them and see what your problem is.

They will be able to tell you what you need to do to overcome it and get Logos 4 Mac running well.

I purchased the Believe's Bible this AM, but the blue icon has disappeared. I think that means that the indexing has completed (I hoPe). No, I have not been syncing anything from Windows.

Has your experience changed with Logos 4 at this point? If not I'd like to echo Alan's suggestion about logs. They are vital for development or anyone else to get an idea of what might be going on. Alan posted a link and there is one in my signature at the bottom to the same page that describes how to pull logs.

Blue Icon appears when Logos Indexer has work to do (download resources, indexing) - disappears when work completed or crash occurred.

Concur with Alan and Tommy about log file posting.

For example usually this Indexer.log message "LogosIndexerWorker | All background tasks have completed; exiting application." is good.

By "hard shutdown" do you mean force quit or shut off the computer? Pressing Command-Option-Esc will give you a force quit dialog. If you cannot do that within L4, click on the Finder icon in the dock.
