Most often stated command

I heard a preacher say the other day that the most often stated command is "fear not." The ESV has that phrase 101. It has the command "rejoice" 161 times. This makes me question the original statement.

There is an old preacher statement that the command "fear not" appears 366 times in the Bible--one for every day of the year including leap year. This appears to not be true.

This all got me wondering: how would you search for what is the most often stated command in the Bible?

In my opinion, these sort of things are a bit subjective and require human curation. As for the preacher: I will give the benefit of the doubt as to his intentions, but when I hear those sort of declarations it causes me to lose (at least a little) faith in his teaching.

I wonder which command is every 4 years?

Agree with JT ... imperatives? Command to whom (goodness, that's a discussion)?

And a command per day would be a disaster (referring to Jesus' departing instructions concerning his commands).

I just had a little fun looking at "commands" in the Bible Browser. There are 5550 results in ESV...there are some we never think about...like Ingesting (125x) and Grooming and Bodily Care (104x). [;)]
