Just to let you know, I hibernated my notebook as it was still indexing. I was afraid it would start indexing from the beginning but, to my surprise, it just continued fine, no problem. That's nice of you Logos.

That's good Bohuslav!  Hibernation probably works because it saves the RAM to disk before closing down.  Unfortunately sleep and power off both tend to restart the process.[:'(]

I've successfully used "sleep" (i.e. standby) a couple times during indexing.  I see no reason why it would restart the process, since memory is retained in RAM and the CPU is just temporarily halted.

Here's the relevant log file entries to show it (notice the jump from "2009-10-01 21:25" to "2009-10-02 00:28")

I should test those statements before I make them huh?

I thought I had read that sleep was causing restarts for someone (Joe?)  But I do know that a reboot does.

    Thanks for the clarification Todd.
