Logos 10.0 hangs when adding note to the title page of the LEB bible.

I have been able to reproduce this bug by doing the following.

  1. Open LEB bible resource (mine is linked to Link Set A).
  2. Go to the Title Page
  3. Select "Lexham English Bible"
  4. Right-click (or two finger tap on a Mac running 12.6).
  5. The selection/action tool pops up with Selection "Lexham English Bible" in the upper left, indicating what is selected. At the bottom of the left hand column it has the Show more information. The rest of the left-hand column is blank, and the right-hand column is totally blank.  I get a spinning wheel and logos does not respond for several minutes.  The cpu time is up during this time.
  6. To eliminate the hang I Force Quit Logos.

Motivation:  I have some template notes that I use in IBS study, and I was going to put a clean/empty version of the template on the title page, so that I could copy and paste it when I need it. I use a different icon for the different steps in IBS, so I can in theory place all of the templates on the title page.

Workaround:  Put the templates on the title of the book of Genesis instead of on the title page.

The right side of the Context menu in Windows has many actions and responds normally.

You don't have to do much to lock up Logos (Mac M1).  Just open LEB, title page, right-click, locked.

    You're right, Doug.

On LEB it's limited to the title page; but also locks up on ESV and NABre title pages (highlighted text; not images).  Judging from the OP's usage, L10.

I can't replicate this behavior on my M1.

I feel like every time I force quit Verbum, it's painful for her.  Today, it was like sticking needles in her.  Sounds like New Orleans!

    Edit:

I did try out some pin-sticking in Verbum.  It appears to be resource specific, and time specific.  Whenever there's a delay or a lock, the CPU is running high.

    - Monographs, etc. No issues; instant (right-click a selection; menu appears both sides)

    - Josephus interlinears, inscriptions, Sectarian DSS (all interlinears) etc no issues

    - Bible: DSS, Syriac, etc no issues

    - Bible: english (checked the oldies where limited tagging): delays about 5 seconds, full CPU

    - Bible: newer (eg NRSV, NRSVue, etc) again about 15 sec delay

    - Commentary volumes: delay about 15 sec

    - Bible: LEB, ESV require needles to Verbum (hard- stop)

It's interesting after the menu is displayed (when a delay), immediately the library is re-displayed (I had it as a panel while testing)

Interesting, while testing, while waiting for Verbum to fill out the right-click menu, if I click on the activity monitor, it displays BEHIND the dead right-click menu, and ABOVE Verbum.  I think another forum member saw similar.

Have not had that happen since very early in the Bata Cycle. Could be because I never use LEB [^o)]
