Suggestion: Publish the Patrologiae

The Patrologiae Graeca and Latina have been in "community pricing" for a decade. Can these actually get published? I'm really excited about them, but it seems like it will never happen.

Part of what is great about Logos is the ability to republish and disseminate out-of-print works that would have little appeal to mainstream publishers. The platform is built for such a thing as the Patrologiae.

Please publish these. We are willing to pay top dollar.

Hapax Legomena

18 volumes of PG came out years ago. But nothing moresince. I’m waiting. I think there is definitely a academic/seminary market for the complete sets.

That's probably an answer only FL knows

- When it toe'd the waters (initial offering), how many bought the package, or in a collection? Quickly or slowly?

- Are Patrologae purchasers profitable? This may seem money-grubbing, but even if Patrologae is unprofitable, if it pulls in more profitable purchasers?

- Is Patrologae key to other collections? Or academic programs?

Not belaboring the point, but I'd like more too. I just wonder about the above.

One thing I do, to make them more useful, is I re-titled them all (per contents), so not only do they show up per my tags but thru the titling. I suspect many aren't familiar with where they fit in a Logos study-world.

The first 18 volumes are included in some of the Orthodox packages, along with all kinds of dead language resources. The upper-level packages make a heavy emphasis on original languages, so I really thought FL would include it with Logos 10. I upgraded to Orthodox Portfolio, and although I have resources on Ugaritic and Akkadian, there is no Chrysostom in Greek. This was very disappointing. I would trade the sermon builder tool or any other new feature for the complete patrologia, especially if it had the morphological tagging.

Your conumdrum is part and parcel of 'Logos' ... explorers, pastors, teachers (well, barely), and academy (OL/theologians). Each group would like to trade one group out, in favor of another!

Actually, my impression was that Libronix>Logos was moving in the 'academy' direction, at least until Bibleworks keeled over, and Accordance looks touch and go. Competition in a declining market is going to be pastors and explorers.
