It was always COED, and still is in current Logos 9 i.e. this expanded name has come from v10.1 and has not sync'd to Logos 9.
PeaceM is a Personal Book with no image, like COED.
This is operating as expected. In the event that a resource did not have an explicit short title, L9 would attempt to make one up using the first letter of each word. This led to ridiculous, unrecognizeable resource abbreviations. For shortcuts, L10 will use the abbreviation if specified, but will otherwise use the full title. You can set COED as the abbreviation on that resource if you desire.

Have done.

I think that applies to the Commentaries section of Passage List for non-series volumes (Verbum crashed trying to open a PG! - separate thread)

Sorry, are you saying that you already had the abbreviation as COED, but it's showing the full resource title? If so, is this is shortcut that was created with L10, or sometime earlier?

I changed the shortcut label to COED, but I just found that the resource abbreviation is also COED. The Personal Book's shortcut label was unchanged and the resource abbreviation had always been PeaceM.

Once a shortcut is created, it doesn't respond to changes in resource metadata. The title is fixed and must be manually edited. Newly created shortcuts to that resource should correctly use the abbreviated title.
