Android App: Lastest version still has made some things better and some worse.

Better:

I like the arrangement of the lower menu bar. It's more useful.

Putting the word "Layouts" instead of the icon is clearer. I'd even move it to the lower menu bar.

Things made worse:

1. It's really hard to get the menu bars at the top and bottom to come up. When I touch the screen, the program immediately highlights text. If I swipe it moves or highlights. I have to spend 15 seconds trying to get the top and bottom menus to appear. It seems the response is rather random. It did not used to work this way.

2. This may have always been an issue, but seems worse now. If I highlight text by dragging and drag too far, I can't go back. For example, if I want to highlight several sentences and the last one ends in the middle of a line, the software will usually highlight several words or even lines past where I want to stop and if I drag my pen or finger up it won't follow up. So I end up with text after the desired text is highlighted and have to delete the highlight and try again, and again until it gets it right. Either that or give up and go to my computer and highlight using a mouse.

Have you tried tapping in the narrow title bar at the top?

I found this recently. Previously I was trying to get the menu bars to appear by scrolling, which usually worked, but not as well. This was especially true when I wanted the menu bars to be present with specific text still showing on the screen.

I wish they would make it so that any scrolling up at all would load the menu bars. I still like to scroll to activate them now that taps generally don't work, and find scrolling easier than tapping on the top of the screen. But you have to scroll so fast/far to make them appear that it is easy to lose your place and just not a great experience. Another option that could be helpful in this regard is a way to pin the menu bars, so they don't disappear when scrolling.

When I "scroll down" - drag the text down from the top - I get the menu bars to consistently appear and when I "scroll up" - drag the text up toward the top - I get the menu bars to consistently hide. So, not a problem in showing or hiding menu bars with a scroll, at least for me. My frustration in doing so is in leaving certain text on the screen when I am done. That's why I much prefer tapping on the title bar at the top instead of scrolling.
