Problem downloading books to IPad

I don't know what is wrong but I am struggling to download books to my IPad. I normally do it wirelessly at home but have even tried to use ITunes. I got a few Bibles downloaded but other books (line Net Bible Notes) just time out eventually.
Any advice?
