I noticed that that a devotion file has a heading call -Today-  in the table of contents that jump right to that given day; I create a devotional personal book with all date milestone, but how to create -today- to jump to given day in the personal doc, their nothing logos help to explain how this is done.

If you have correctly formatted the dates and compiled as a calendar devotional, the logic to open to today's date should simply "work".

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I don't think Faithlife has provided this info to us. It is likely that personal books are unable to do so. As MJ suggested, if created properly, opening the resource from the library should take you to "today." You would have to close the resource to have it open to "today" on a different day.

    Personal Books (logos.com)">

    Calendar Devotional

    • Has Day of Year milestones e.g. [[@DayOfYear:January 17]].
    • Has articles for study and reflection for each day of the year.

If this requirement is met and it is compiled as a calendar devotional, the personal book behaves the same as a Faithlife provided calendar devotional.

MJ - I think you missed his question.

The "Logos Edition" calendar devotionals have a "-today-" link in the sidebar TOC. The benefit of having that in the TOC is that if the resource has been sitting in a layout, it does not automatically go to "today" (whenever that might be). To get the book to open to "today," the user would have to close the resource and open it again from the library... (or perhaps create a shortcut to the resource).

His question was specifically about the creation of the "-today-" link in the sidebar TOC.

You are correct. I was thinking of today link in a more generic sense.

Internally, a PB Devotional cannot provide a -Today- link as shown

You might have more success with a lectionary because there is a user accessible specification for today e.g. [[logosres:rcldaily;ref=YearMonthDay.today]]. This obviously works best for daily readings. You would have to use the actual L4 link for the PB (after compiling).

I don't believe that this feature is available to Personal Books, sorry.
