One thing that I find that erodes my trust/enthusiasm for your products is the apparent lack of progress in the backlog of tagging and the inclusion of ALL the appropriate tagging on new resources. On some of these, the upkeep seems to be relegated to "update when customers complain." Others need a mechanism for users to assist FaithLife.
- Items that seem to require a user complaint (or have in the past):
- Verbum preset collections: Church fathers, Catechisms, Church documents
- Resources appearing in the Liturgy section of the Passage Guide
- Bible cross-references
- Outlines
- Pericope comparison
Items that seem to have stalled:
- Timeline linkages of resource flags
- Sermons (liturgical date needs reworked for use in this context)
- Personal letters
- Lectures (or is this limited only to counseling lectures?)
- Redistributing monographs across more specific resource types
Items that update but we don't notice it
New items that we haven't had time to worry about:
- Questions and Answers
- Verbum church history
- Faithlife supplied factbook tags
Items with periodic updates that are often noticed by users before updated
Items that need to update more occasionally:
The list is incomplete but illustrates how features are hampered by incomplete data. I don't want Faithlife to spend its time reporting to the users rather than actually doing the tagging and linking, but it would be very positive public relations to indicate which data is being updated with new resources or with the scheduled data updates, so that as users, we can believe progress is being made and understand where we can expect to see improvement.
