Search

  • passage:List is supported in Bible Search.
  • Resolved a bug that caused reference searches in Bibles to only find cross-references.

Passage Lists

  • Added Milestone search.

I think the first statement is intended to convey that you can get results from a passageList: query in Bible Search and the second statement gives you a rough idea of what to expect (it is not easy to relate the two separate statements).

In practice, in a Bible Search, passageList: will give results for Cross References (crossreference) and Translators Notes (transnote) without you being able to distinguish what is what. In Logos 9, bible references only gave you Cross References and I have a bug report about this unwarranted, confusing inclusion in Logos 10.1.

So a query like passageList:”Example Cross Ref Passage List” will now list cross references and translators notes based on the references in the Passage List.  But a query like crossreference:passageList:”Example Cross Ref Passage List” will give exactly the same results, as will a query with transnote: and WOC: fields. So you cannot distinguish crossreferences from translators notes (or any other fields).

A query like milestone:passageList:”Example Cross Ref Passage List” (from the last statement above) uses the references to list milestone text in a bible (in Bible Search!) or a commentary, or other resources indexed by the Bible datatype.

So it reasonable that the field search examples will also work as expected and the bare passageList: should be restricted to cross references in Bible Search.

Bumping this week as this has received no response

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
