The Complete Biblical Library Quirk
When I have the CBL Greek and Hebrew dictionaries open, if click on a word in my preferred Bible (1900 KJV), the appropriate lemma pops up in CBL. If I select/highlight a word or character (by dragging the mouse, usually by accident, as Logos is super sensitive to mouse movement) in my Bible, the CBL dictionaries change to the CBL Interlinear resource. How do I stop it from doing that? I have the CBL Greek and Hebrew dictionaries prioritized but not the interlinears. I'm running Logos 10 on a Mac. Thanks!

I can't reproduce what you are describing - could you either post "before and after" pictures that cause the interlinears to appear or post a video showing it?

Does it do this only when the lemma doesn't appear in the CBL?

Thanks for your help MJ and Graham. I have linked a video showing the problem. I am really confused concerning how the CBL works in Logos and might ask for a refund if I cannot get it to function like a regular dictionary which is my primary use.

Thanks - and I noticed a couple of things worth investigating further:
When you bring up the context menu about halfway through it shows the top five lexicons that would be used in a lookup and this doesn't include the CBL dictionary. So I don't understand why that is the one being updated when you click on a word. Can you show the relevant part of your prioritisation list, and do you have any advanced prioritisation set up?
And I noted you had a lot of resources in a link set. To eliminate that as being relevant what happens if you remove the CBL resource from that link set?

FL needs to, seriously, rebuild the CBL from the ground up and correct so many things.

I have the CBL dictionary prioritized with no advance prioritization. Changing the link set had no effect.

I still wonder if the CBL uses the same lemma i.e. does it have a lemma for the cases where it fails. Lemma definitions are not the same across all resources although the CBL should be internally consistent.

There are two things that can happen when you click on a word in a Bible that's in a link set:
- Linked Bible resources will navigate to the verse reference you clicked in
- Linked dictionary resources will navigate to the lemma you clicked on
Meanwhile, another feature of Logos comes into play:
- If the currently-open resource doesn't have the reference clicked on, another resource in the same series replaces it. (This is useful for multi-volume commentary sets.)
The conflict comes when you have a mix of Bibles and Dictionaries in the same series. If the current lemma or reference isn't found in the active resource, another resource from the same series will replace it. It may be arbitrary whether a Bible or a Dictionary is chosen.
The fix is to use a unique Series name for the CBL dictionaries. Open the Library, find The Old Testament Hebrew-English Dictionary and The New Testament Greek-English Dictionary. Under "Series", click the Edit pencil and enter something like The Complete Biblical Library Dictionaries.
Now your dictionary won't automatically change to a Bible when it's in a linkset. (But it will change from Hebrew to Greek when you change from OT to NT.)

Thanks Bradley. I followed your procedures and everything is working great for the New Testament. For the Old, I no longer have the problem of switching to the interlinear but there are many words if I click on, don't show up in the dictionary. For instance, in Genesis 1:1, God, created, and earth do not appear in the dictionary, even though they have entries. Is this the issue that MJ mentioned? Thanks again for excellent service!!

A similar issue with the CBL commentaries exists for me if I scroll the CBL Bible in a linkset with the CBL commentaries. The commentary will morph into the CBL Bible.
On a side note, the CBL Bible and other commentaries (including study Bible notes) work great when in a linkset.

Using a similar fix for the set of commentaries seems to have solved this problem.
