I give this the highest possible recommendation. Brown goes into incredible detail about every verse and aspect of the period of time in the title. Even if you don't agree with his perspective or approach, I cannot recommend it enough as he addresses practically everything you could possibly think of related to Jesus' last day.
I think you can have a laugh -- I thought you meant the day of the ascension rather than of the crucifixion.

Just to give an example of the depth of Brown's work: for the scene from Jesus trial regarding the release of Barabbas, Brown has 33 pages. He provides a translation of all the relevant passages in the Gospels plus the brief mention in Acts 3:14. He then gives a commentary on the passages and analyzes all the related issues. Again, you might not share Brown's perspective, but his depth and breadth of discussion is difficult to match.

Ok, thanks. I purchased this. Actually, purchased it within Verbum 5 Silver. Just cost another $120 to get some additional catholic resources I've never read.
