BUG: Psalm Explorer - Detail view empty

Hi all

I hope this is the right way to communicate the issue I am facing: It's about the Psalm Explorer Tool, and the issue has been there quite a while ago already. I was hoping for remedy with an update, but apparently this is not going to happen, and I'm a bit worried I'm the only one having the problem at all?

I can open the Psalm Explorer without problems, use the different filters (left panel) and views (top right selections) etc.

But when I click on 1 of the psalms in the selection, I would expect (from past experience ;-) that this one Psalm is displayed in the main window. But all I see is the Title (Psalm xyz) followed by the viewing selections "Hebrew", "Parallelism" and "Structure" that can be (de-)selected. But the main window beneath remains completely empty.

Does anyone know about this? Is there a setting I have not noticed? I would be thankful for any kind of help :-)

Regards, Michael

    Hi Michael

I have just tried your steps and all works fine here.

    MacOS 13.0.1 and Logos 10.1.0.0052

Perhaps some logs and a screenshot would help along with some details of your system?

    Hi Mike

thanks for your answer. I'm working with Windows 10, Logos 10.1.0.0052 as well (but the problem has already existed in Logos 9). What I have just noticed: It does work on my desktop PC (that I rarely use that one) but not on my Surfacebook. I will send you some Logs and a Screen Shot in a personal message.

as it seems it's not possible to write private messages, so here you go with the logs and Screen Shot.

Same here, Win 10, Verbum 10.1 SR-2 (which was running German UI like yours):

The error is in the web browser using the German version of the Interactive. A log of your PC with the Interactive would be useful.

    Hi Dave

sorry, I'm lost [:S] - the logs I uploaded were captured on the Surfacebook on which the problem exists. I use Edge browser (Version 108.0.1462.42, but just updating) set to German. And I don't understand inhowfar the language of the browser could interfere with Logos installation?

To check I changed Logos language to English on the Surfacebook, but it doesn't work either. Then I checked (there I would agree with the browser interaction!) to open the Psalm Explorer in the Browser app (app.logos.com) - and tadaaa: there it works

So there's just one installation that doesn't work - unfortunately the one I'm constantly working with. I'll gladly send you any logs I can provide, but would kindly ask you to describe which logs you would need?

    Thanks in advance!

Logos uses an internal web browser for some functionality, like this Interactive, and sets the language according to your Windows UI language.

but would kindly ask you to describe which logs you would need?

Provide the same zipped folder of logs as earlier. One for the Surfacebook with Logos Language = English and one for the PC.

Alright - here they come! I have named the Files after the Source (where the last 2 characters of the surfacebook files indicate the language - I switche in between):

    Desktop PC

    1541.Desktop PC.zip

    Surfacebook DE

    3731.Surfacebook DE.zip

    Surfacebook EN

    4087.Surfacebook EN.zip

I see a lot of similarities between the three logs as they all use the German version of the Interactive, but you say that it works on the PC (logs 1541). My logs are much simpler and it works!

We will have to let Faithlife come into this.

Is your Lexham Hebrew Bible downloaded in the app? I get no detail information when it is not.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks for that one! It did indeed solve the problem - everything works again now!

The issue was that I was really short on disk space on this laptop (not the only one using it, and Logos was (and still is) the most space consuming of all my apps, so quite a while ago I removed from the disk all resources I could spare. And as I don't understand Hebrew, it was obvious for me to remove this translation, unaware that it is a prerequisit for this feature.

Thanks again to all you guys who have tried to help me debug the thing! You're a great community!
