Passage List
Hi All
I am trying to produce a passage list with different versions of verses i.e.
John 3:16 NLT
John 14:5 NASB
Titus 1:6 KJV
Can anyone advise how I can do this.

A passage list is references only, not text. You can display the reference in any text version you would like, or in multiple text versions. For instance, if you put NLT in the input box of the PL, each reference would display NIV text. But if you put in NLT, NASB, KJV, then each reference would display three times, once in each version text. But there wouldn't be a way to have the first reference display in NLT text, second in NASB text and third in KJV text.

I'll give you a PC answer and hope it works for MAC. (Sheepish grin)
The passage list won't do this exactly, but you can add multiple bibles.

Have only recently started to get to grips with L4 (...shame on me)
Is there any other solutions for adding passages individually in different bible versions so I can export them together to MSWord (once research work completed)?

I don't think this can be done yet. Once printing and exporting is completed on the Mac, (currently Beta on the Win side), you can use either Clippings or Note to do this.

If you're interested in only certain versions of a given verse you might want to consider the copy bible verses (CBV) dialog (Tools menu).
You can type in your reference and automatically copy and paste your current version into your word processor.

One more RE: CBV
You can also use the command bar to quickly put a verse/version in your clipboard for easy pasting in your word processor.
example: copy john 3.16 in ESV
Then just paste into your document.

Thomas is correct. And if you don't mind doing this as you pull together research, this is the best bet. But if you want to collect data and export all at once, you will have to wait for those features to be finished in L4 Mac.

What value is the passage list and notes if you cannot export them? I am curious to know how some of you use these tools.

1. I am able to have a passage list for collecting common verses for an ongoing topic of interest.
2. Once implemented, I can use a PL as a search boundary. (works on PC)
3. You can cross compare large PL against each other.
4. You can simplify complicated search results by saving individual searches as PL's.
5. You can use it to compare different versions on a non linear set of verses.
6. How about this one. Find cross references unique among several versions in a chapter or section of a bible.
e.g. Highlight a chapter in a version, use power lookup and select copy. Create a new PL named by version and reference. paste from clipboard. Repeat on another version. Using the compare tool in PL, see what references are in common, or are unique. I suppose you could do this for multiple versions.

Can the Passage List reference versions of the Bible that I do not own as a LOGOS resource?
I am trying to utilize the memorize function of the Passage List with verses from the Reina-Valera 1960 (a resource that I currently do not own). Can I type these verses in directly, or can LOGOS reference the specific version from an online Bible like http://www.biblegateway.com/ or http://www.blueletterbible.org/ ?

Thanks for the quick reply alabama24. Referencing the software's help notes, could any of the "add" options be used? I just upgraded to Logos 5.
3. Click on the Add drop-down and choose to Add passages from:
• Reference – enter a passage manually
• URL – enter the URL of a webpage containing Bible references
• ... selected text – adds passages within selected resource text
• ... a file – brings up an Open dialog to choose an existing Text file (*.txt) to import passages from
• ... clipboard – pastes passages that are scanned from text copied to the clipboard to the end of the passage list0 -

No. The "add" feature isn't to add resources (translations). It is to add references. If an "add from URL" feature was created, it would simply scan the webpage for biblical references.

Also, since you have updated to L5, it would be better to post questions in the L5 forum. There is no longer a "mac only" forum for the newest builds… the apps have <near> feature parity.
