Update will not install

Please start diagnostic logging and upload the logs (all logs with similar date/time) after the failure. This will tell us what is going wrong.

To manage downloads go to Program Settings and set Automatically Download Updates to NO.

If I delete the setup.exe and the .msi files from the "installers/420" folder will it stop hassling me every time I start Logos?

The log file shows a problem with gaining access to a file. Not sure why you are having this issue, someone else might know. If you don't get additional help I would simply delete the C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\3xiiagpt.bec\UpdateManager\ folder contents, reopen Logos 4, type Update Now in the Command Bar and hit enter to see if it will re-download the updates you need and install them properly.

I deleted that folder and now Logos 4 starts normally. (I also "took ownership" of the Logos4 folder & subfolders) When I do the "Update Now" in the command bar, it says there's no new updates. So . . . I guess I'll leave it alone for the moment

The log says your System Restore service is disabled and this seems to have caused the failure. Enable System Restore for C: drive and it should install.

I have been having similar problems with this update, and have tried changing file/folder permissions to no avail, as well as doing a clean reboot before trying, renaming old files, etc. I have just tried again, and am still having similar problems. I am consdering doing a complete clean install, but am concerned that it will then take hours to reindex everything. I also supplied copies of my logs about a week ago, but have heard nothing. Given that so many of us are experienceing problems with this update, shouldn't somebody from Logos post an explanation of some sort? At the moment I'm just refusing the update every time it is offered and getting very frustrated.

I agree that a clean install is best and you can use the wiki Method 3 to install:-

save your Resources folder
uninstall Logos4 from Control Panel (leave PreRequisites)
delete the \Logos4 folder
install Logos4 -> do not use "Run as administrator" even for a Standard User account.

Read the wiki first so you understand what is happening.

Thanks. This appears to have worked. I actually mailed the log files to Craig Harris as requested on 18th August, but didn't hear anything back, which was why I ended up looking at the forum today.
