What's the proper way to manage beta ~~ SR releases?

I have wondered about this for awhile...most of the time I have my system set to 'Set Update Channel to Beta'. Beta versions come out, they update. But periodically, on the stable channel a Service Release/SR will come out. I think there have been 3 on the most recent stable release version.
I have assumed these fixes are baked into the current or worst case next beta version that comes out. Is that true? Or should I/we do a 'Set Update Channel to Default' when an SR release comes out, and then go back to the Beta channel?

Your original assumption is correct. No reason to switch back and forth.

That is optional, but stay on "Default" until the next Beta. I remain on "Beta" unless there is a compelling reason to switch to "Default".
