Feature Request: Update Notes Text Editor iOS

I hesitated whether to report this as a bug, or to enter it as a feature request. I'm guessing that you guys know about it, though, so I decided to enter it as a Feature Request.

Please consider updating the notes text editor to implement a more native iOS feel. Specifically, two requests:

1) Speed: The text editor is really slow. You can see in the video below that I demonstrate this in two ways. First, by tapping on a line that is below where the keyboard shows up. The animation takes a long time. Second, while the keyboard is up, tapping a bunch different lines really fast. Obviously, no one is doing this in real life, but it's just the best way to show how slow it is when I just want to change which line I am typing on.

For instance, if the cursor is on line 1, and I want to switch to line 2 and then delete a character, I have had it happen where I tap to switch to line 2 and then tap delete. However, because it takes so long to switch to line 2, what actually happens is that it deletes a character on line 1, and then switches to line 2.

You can see that after my recording of Logos, I also took a recording on the native Apple Notes app, which also supports Rich Text Editing. The app is so much faster in both these cases.

2) References: Currently, the only way that you can get a reference to actually link is to type the reference, and then type enter. That is fine in certain cases, but sometimes I don't want an Enter after my reference. Can you run that same code that searches for references when the user taps Done on the keyboard? (Again, see video for example)

Thank you for considering. Let me know if I can clarify in any way.

I saw that Ali responded to another of my posts and said this forum was more for bugs than feature requests, so that is my bad. However, I’d appreciate if you could still take a look at this issue and tell me how to categorize it, because like I said, I think it falls between a bug and a feature request. Thanks!

Hi Nathanael. I agree that both of these reports can teeter the line of bug or feature request. I would suggest reporting them in Faithlife Feedback for now as feature requests, so that we can track user votes. Thank you for your commitment to improving Logos!

Thanks, Ali. I have done so here -- https://feedback.faithlife.com/boards/logos-mobile-app/posts/fix-ios-notes-text-editor. I switched to Logos from Olive Tree because I will soon be heading to seminary, but this is by far the biggest downside of the switch. Olive Tree's note taking is honestly much better, so hoping this can get implemented at some point. I appreciate you getting back to me.
