Reftagger for PDF files?

Is there any way to add reftagger to PDF files if the verse lookup is online and the PDF file is local on an individual local computer? Can this be done with a script rather than having to put background code by each verse reference.

The main issue is that the PDF file may be in Adobe acrobat reader, not a website. Is this possible?

It's possible to add scripts to PDF files with Adobe Acrobat (not the free reader, but the full version).

You'd certainly be able to find someone on Fiverr to write the code for you. The Adobe Acrobat license is everything but affordable though.

I use reftagger and PDF files by working with Word. The way I start out is I open the pdf in Word then I save it as a docx file in Word. Then I post it to my blog/website which has Reftagger running. My system can't be migrated to adding a script to each pdf file unless I am serving pdf files directly from my blog/website which I know how to do but I choose not to. I direct my blog readers to other hosts so they can read the pdf files. This keeps my blog/website less cluttered. You can visit the blog/website Here.
