Bug-ish: Delayed Highlight Displaying

Verbum 22.0.23; Mac latest.

Happened after the last update (I fudged, and turned updates back on; big mistake).

Anyway the bug looks like the bug at Logos 10 intro ... a delay of about 3 secs between selection, and showing the highlight.  That bug got fixed but is back.  Most people probably won't see it ... related to large layouts, I think.

Also, when a resource is opened (added to layout), there's no highlights, until I highlight (with delay). Then they all show up at once.

I decided to avoid the bug, by just deleting all my highlights (about 63,000).  Sounds drastic, but I only use highlights for visual memory; I delete periodically.

That didn't help (a day later with re-starts, etc).

I assume this bug is here to stay.  High-speed MacM1; the code must really be churning.

Highlighting is instantaneous on slow-speed[:)] PC  (Verbum 23 Beta 1, Windows 11).

Have you tried it with a small layout e.g. 15-20 tabs?

    Apologies ... missed your reply.

Well, after I deleted all my notes/highlights, and a few days to 'settle in' (a guess; I'm guessing they're doing a one-by-one delete and sync), the highlighting is back to normal (of course with only 10-20 highlights).

I did check the small layout but that was after Logos 'recovered'.  So, didn't answer the mail.

I'm not sure what they did when they re-org'd notes years back.  I've always just 'highlighted' without regard to what notebook, etc.  Quite possible after 60K+ of disorganization, it gave up.  64K-ish looks binary-ish as a limiter but just old coding days probably.

It is still organized with a default Notebook name, but the 64k part does sound ominous!
