[crash] Beta 5 - force quit to close programme

I went away from my desk for about 30 minutes, came back and attempted to close L4 Mac. All I got was a spinning ball and had to force quit. I have attached my logs. This has actually happened twice now, so I decided to report it. HTH.

In terms of the behavior being repeatable, is the context the same for each crash? Meaning, does it take you going away for long periods of time before coming back and then being unable to close the program? How long does the beachball appear prior to force quitting?

It was repeatable in that in order to close Logos 4 the only way to do a force quit. Before attempting to close the programme, it appeared to be fine. It was manifested by a spinning beach ball and after a minute or so, I finally had to kill it. I did leave the ball spinning for quite some time just to insure it wasn't saving something, etc.

What are your actions prior to the hang? Does reproducing the behavior require 30minutes or so of you ignoring the program altogether (not as a result of the beachball) in order to repeat the behavior?

Just happened again tonight. I opened it and then it ran in the background at the home page while I did some other stuff. Probably about 30 minutes later I came back and decided to close it. When I did, all I got was a beach ball until I force quit the application.

A couple of questions:

How are you quitting the app? Menu -> Quit? ⌘-Q? Right-click Dock Icon -> Quit?
Once you quit the app, how long are you waiting for it to finish?

The reason I ask is this: it looks like the app is beginning the shutdown procedure, but is perhaps taking its sweet time? Next time this happens, it'd be worth waiting out to see if it ever quits properly (if you wait 5 minutes and it doesn't, force quit and upload the logs).

On this last occasion, I used the file menu to quit. Usually I hit Command - 'Q' I don't know how long I left it before I decided to force quit, but on the premise it needed to wind down, I left it a very long time and then came back to it. If it happens again, I'll time the amount of time that I leave it before I finally force quit it!
