I’m trying to change the versions that appear in text component the mobile app on my phone. I’ve searched directions on the website and it give direction for the iPad or some other mobile app. I’ve searched here but I could only find someone giving directions for the mobile app on the ipad.

can any tell me where I can find the directions or how to do it?

thanks!

It's actually the same as for the iPad

When you have the Text Comparison open, click the three dots icon at the top right.

One of the items you should see in there is a line saying Top Bibles.

Tap that and you should get a dropdown menu with all your currently defined collections (synced from the desktop). Select one of these to select a new set of resources to use in the tool

    Thanks, Graham.

I clicked the three dots icon in the top right. A drop down menu appeared with Top Bibles in it. I tapped Top Bibles and the drop down menu it was in just disappeared.  I didn't get another dropdown menu with all my currently defined collections.

I solved the issue by changing the selection of bibles in my desktop version and then I deleted the Logos app on my phone and uploaded it.  When I opened Text Comparison in the newly uploaded app had synced with my desktop and now my new selection of top bibles appeared.

Graham, I do not see my comparison collection when tapping Top Bibles. I only see the Top Bibles collection listed. I made sure to download all of the Bibles in that collection, but still do not see them when selecting that option. Do you have any recommendations?

    Hi Nick

I do not see my comparison collection when tapping Top Bibles. I only see the Top Bibles collection listed

I've just tried this on my iPad and Android phone

On iPad, I get the list of collections as per my post earlier in this thread. On Android, I see that instead of Top Bibles there is an item called Resource Collections. When I tap that I get the list of Collections to choose from.

What device are you using and which version of the Logos app?

Can you post a screenshot showing what you are describing?

I am using a 5th generation iPad Air on iPadOS 17.0.3 with Logos 29.0.0. Here is a screenshot of what I see.

That is very strange - I’m using the same versions of iPadOS and Logos (but a much earlier iPad) and my screenshot shows something totally different. It looks as though yours is missing some items and icons.

Hopefully someone from Logos will see this and will be able to comment further.

When I initially tap the the three dot menu, that list of options you show does come up for me. My screenshot showed what happened when I tapped the Top Bibles option in the list.

    Thanks for clarifying Nick.

So that sounds as though your iPad app doesn’t recognise any of your collections - apart from Top Bibles.

I haven’t seen that before, hopefully someone from Logos will be able to comment.

One thing that might be interesting to check - do you have the Verbum app installed on the iPad?

If so, do you see the same behaviour there?

If you don’t have it installed, try installing it and logging in using the same credentials and check its behaviour

Good question. I installed Verbum, logged in, and let it sit for awhile. I still only see the Top Bibles option listed.

Are you using the same login credentials as on desktop?

Since I haven’t seen a response from Logos personnel here, would there be a better way for me to get support on this?

Although Logos employees pop in from time to time, the forums are not a means for official support... it is crowd sourced support. If you need help, you need to contact Logos directly (phone, email... in that order).

I have not found the solutions above to work on my iPhone. In Text Comparison, when I tap the 3-dot dropdown menu, I see Top Bibles, and when I tap on it, I get a Resource Collections window with Top Bibles and a check mark, but no functionality. I have not found any solution in syncing to my laptop, either.

However, I stumbled upon a solution to selecting Bibles for the Text Comparison. It is easy, but tedious:

    1. In the bottom menu, R corner, tap 3-line More icon.
    2. Scroll down to Set Top Bible and tap.
    3. Select the Bible version you want to appear last in your Text Comparison order.
    4. Close the app, then reopen - you will see that version appear at the top of the Text Comparison list.
    5. Repeat steps 1-4 for each version you want to add. Each subsequent version selected will appear at the top of the list. On the final repeat, select your favorite version as the Top Bible, and it will appear above all the others.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it works for you.

I stumbled upon a solution to selecting Bibles for the Text Comparison.

The old collections I had mostly work correctly for me, but I haven't had access to a desktop computer for years, and not being able to edit priorities or collections is one of my biggest problems with the mobile version/web app - actually being able to reorder my texts was invaluable! Thank you!
