Issue with some Logos Resources: Final spaces are included in sentences in some books

I do a lot of highlighting in resources as I read them. I appreciate the new Mobile behavior where a tap selects the whole sentence. However, in many resources, a tap selects the whole sentence plus the space after the sentence, which means I have to manually adjust the highlight every time. I would say this happens in about 10% of resources. It is fairly common; I run into it almost every day. I would really appreciate if this could be looked into.

Since there is nothing in the sentence itself that would cause the sentence-selection algorithm to be confused, my guess it that it is a preprocessing issue with these resources, and they might be able to be re-processed. I ran into this more with older resources where less attention might have been given to them. Here is one example for testing:

Does the actual highlight extend to the space after the sentence? I have found the same with "Smart" selections on desktop, but the highlight did not extend to the space after multiple sentences.

It's an interesting conundrum as to the definition of highlighting a sentence. There will be differing opinions on this. Actually, the Chicago Manual of Style and the AP Stylebook both say a space after the period is a required part of a sentence. APA Style, MLA Style say it is preferred. So if there is a tap/gesture to select a sentence, the majority likely would require the 1 space after the period selected as part of the sentence selection; they could easily be pasting somewhere else in a document and need the space. If you don't want the sentence, use click-and-drag to grab exactly what you want, ie without the space.

I don't see this as a bug but as a reasonable feature for encoding text. You still should report it as a bug with a BUG prefix in the title so that we heard the Faithlife position on the topic.
