Bug v.23: Library Count not updated after forced removal of two books

Just after having moved 12 resources to the Cloud and eventually getting the status correct (via restart) a download of 109.4 MB seemed to trigger the removal of two of these (both Permanent license):

  1. John Newton: A Guide to his Life & Writing
  2. Athanasius: A Guide to his Life & Writing

The Cloud status was quickly updated (surprise!) but total count for Library was not updated, together with the count for This Device

This happened for Logos 9.17 as well as Verbum v23.

Update:

Soon after I received a message to restart for updated books/resources and the total count was still not changed. Imagine my surprise when I found the two resources above had been re-downloaded.

Now, everything is not OK just because the counts were likely OK because they were REMOVED from Cloud and ADDED as downloaded (new) resources. How are we supposed to keep track of our books if their cloud status is not respected!!

This seems related to the existing problem with updating the library status. I've added a link to this thread to that case.

And it was carried over from Logos 9.17!

It was detected only because I was tracking the removal of 12 recently added resources to Cloud on v9.17 and v23. I was blind-sided initially because I thought the two permanent resources had been removed from my license and I was expecting a reduced total count.

The two cloud issues I raised recently both existed in Logos 9 and have been ignored or gone undetected for too long. They must be fixed before you implement sweeping changes to cloud resources. The recent uncoordinated changes to temporary collections (via user tags/rating and metadata) and user collections (revoked in v23) have only created confusion and this issue has succeeded in alienating me to further changes.

So it should be remembered that resources have legitimately been relegated to Cloud for at least 2 years and there must be a Setting to allow this to continue exactly as in Logos 9. I only hope that changes will  be more thoroughly designed and tested than recent experience has demonstrated.
