L/V 10+ Tip of the Day #103 Search non-contiguous passages
Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. There are two ways of doing this. In the first, one simply uses a Passage List document to define the text to be searched. Think "all the passages referenced in the Westminster Confession of Faith", "all passages in Year C of the lectionary", "all passages mentioned in the Commandments of the Law interactive" . . .
The second method is to define a range of references, provide them with a name, and save them for reuse. This is especially useful for alternative canons, for groupings within the canon, etc.
Step 1: enter the reference range.
Step 2: Enter save which then asks for a name for the reference range,
Step 3: Select from the saved reference ranges names
The options for the reference range include:
- all passages
- manually entered, one-time range
- user-defined saved ranges (2nd option above)
- Logos/Verbum defined common divisions
- user-defined passage lists (1st option above)
- Pericopes from highest priority Bible (only if Bible books is typed in as range)
