Note this is a later release than the final beta version 23.0.30, so if you want it you have to Set Update Channel to Default.

For the tiny minority who care about version numbers, a new .1 release is equivalent to the old SR-1 release. We will use dot releases only to issue bug fixes that are sufficiently critical that we don't want you to have to wait six weeks or so for the next major version in order to get the fix.

Thanks Mark I was going to ask if this was the case.

      • Fixed an intermittent crash during resource discovery.

Is there a forum thread for this that explains this in more detail or was this something discovered in-house? Can you give us details on what this bug is?

The bug was introduced in 23.0. We discovered this issue in-house, and decided to fix it immediately based on the rising count of automated crash reports.

I don't think there is a forum thread for this one. Typically forum threads arise when one user consistently sees the same crash. This was a timing issue, so I doubt any one person saw it consistently enough to think to write a post on it. On our side, we saw lots of users have 1-2 crash from the bug, so we decided to fix it.

Thanks Nick. Good to know that you guys are proactively fixing crashes.

  • Hi Savanna,

Is it possible to get the full update link? I try to update my apps with the Windows package manager, and the last update to that was version 9.10.17. Thanks!

It is Interesting that v22.0 is already Unsupported and nothing is in Maintenance!

That matches my understanding that one motivating factor was to have customer support dealing with only one version.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

That is a bit tough when people are having trouble getting v23 and v22 + Logos 9 are not even in Maintenance. And a seven year old version of Windows is still supported!!

Is 23.1 considered Logos 10? Very confusing that my Logos software (including the "About Logos Bible Software") just gives me a number (23.1.33) which seems to have no correlation to Logos 9, 10, or whatever

The latest version of Logos (version 23) is not associated with Logos 9 or 10 or whatever. Anyone can run this version of the software, it doesn't matter what version of the packages they have purchased. Everyone should be running the latest version of the software if possible.

That's the point of the change. The software has never really been tied to these releases except that those who made the purchase recieved access first. All users have always been encouraged to update the free software engine. This change (hopefully) will make that more clear.
