Upgrading my Tablet - Looking for Recommendations

My Kindle fire is about 6-7 years old and takes forever to do anything.  I am looking to get something new.  I do all my serious study on a laptop or desktop.  Therefore, I would primarily use a tablet for reading, highlighting, and taking notes.

I was going to upgrade to the Kindle Fire 8, but am also considering something in iPad family.  I've never used an iPad, so it would be different, but I don't expect it would be too difficult to adjust.  Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Ronald, I have both a Fire HD 8 (10th Gen) and an iPad. Viewing this purely from the vantage point of convenience, for reading I prefer my Fire tablet. For more robust activities like searching, text comparison, and the like I use my iPad. If I had to choose between the platforms, I would choose my iPad.

Thanks.  I agree that the iPad is probably better to accomplish more tasks.  I'll probably go with the Kindle Fire. Not only is it less expensive, but it is also my wife's "recommendation." [:D]

I have an iPad Pro, Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, and an Amazon Fire HD 8. Logos on both the iPad and Galaxy Tab is a better experience than on the Amazon Fire. All three are responsive, but there's a significant advantage over the slower processor of the Fire.

If your wife already “recommended” why even bother to ask here? You won’t change her mind 😂😂😂

I had a Kindle Fire. I never regretted going with the iPad Air back when I had to upgrade. It really transformed everything way beyond Logos use. I practically do everything with it. I even added a Mini recently to make sure I have a backup second device.

Certainly a different direction, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my Onyx Boox air note 2 plus.  I mainly read and take notes with it and greatly appreciate the e-ink screen. It is also very nice to write on. Not a cheap device, but it has been worth it for me.

😂😂 Anyway, my iPad 10th Gen 10.9 inch works like a charm! Lately, I’ve been taking advantage of the reading out loud feature and it’s amazing! I can listen to commentaries and monographs to give my eyes a rest.  I also watch shows and movies on it.

I’m currently listening to the Marginal Jew series since it’s not an easy read.  I get to take notes too and highlight while I listen.

I can highly recommend this tablet:

I just picked one up for my wife and it is an excellent device. I tried Logos on it, in case I decide to grab a new tablet and it runs perfectly. Audio and Video is very crisp - it has significant storage in comparison to most base model tablets and is very responsive.

You may catch a discount code on the website once in a while as well.
