Help needed to use English and French

I purchased Logos 9 in English with French 'unlocked' after purchase. My native language is English and French is the language of the country in which I live and the language I am learning. I want to do all my study in English and later have the French translation of resources available for presentation to groups where there will be simultaneous translation with English and French. I am currently setting up the dashboard and explore sections of my home page. I would like all of that to be in English! When I selected the daily devotions in the dashboard drop down the majority were in French. I have also found this issue in several other things.

I have gone through my settings and selected English, restarted the program several times and still I can't seem to get it all in English or even get the original version of something, for example, Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest. Other than selecting language in the settings, is there another option for language that I'm not seeing? I could really use help understanding how to use my Logos as it relates to having to 2 languages available. I will not be doing my studies in French, for many years at least, until I gain mastery of the language!

Many thanks!

Hi Debbie, welcome to the forums!

I have gone through my settings and selected English

This will change the user interface (i.e. the Logos commands, menus, help etc) to English - I would expect this to work.

still I can't seem to get it all in English or even get the original version of something, for example, Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest.

The point is that you own resources in one language (just like printed books). I couldn't get from your post exactly which L9 package you bought, but from this page https://www.logos.com/product/179277/tout-pour-quil-regne I inferred you bought a French language base package that contains it (and probably French language bibles and French language bible commentaries etc. If you can't use that package, it would be best to return it - if still possible - and buy an English language package. At least you should get the free English packages that give you a number of bibles and stuff including at least one English language devotional. If you want to have Chambers in English, you probably will need to buy it, it's not too expensive.

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

    Hi NB Mick,

I bought the L9 Silver with English base package. French was added later. My library has Bible and books with both languages already loaded in. I have only purchased English resources to add on.

Funny thing, the Chambers devo was included with the French but I would need to buy it in English... Also, it's too late to return it so I'm trying to figure this out. I sent an email to Faithlife making inquiries and am waiting to hear back. I thought maybe someone in the forums might have had the same experience.

    Thank you for offering help.

    Welcome [:D]

Curious what your Library shows for Calendar Devotionals on This Device ?

Home Page => Daily Devotions => Add shows Calendar Devotional resources that have been downloaded (albeit my list on Home Page lacks Lenten Grace while allowing me to select from all the other downloaded Calendar Devotional resources in my library)

    Keep Smiling [:)]
