There is an entry for Evangelical Covenant Church which should be offered ... the "of America" portion of many church names is randomly omitted but should not cause a failure to find the match.

Can you include the full name of the resource from your left screenshot? I'm getting expected behavior when adding long text as a factbook tag or getting no articles from the drop down. Having the exact resource you are using might help speed the replicated behavior.
Actually, I think we are good on the resource. I see the issue is more pertaining to us not having an entry for Evangelical Covenant Church of America, we do have one for Evangelical Covenant Church though if you wanted to use that for the time being.
I'll see if we can add Evangelical Covenant Church of America as an alias to the existing entry or to add an entry for ECCoA.

Yes, they are aliases. But my objection was that when the front 26 or so characters matched, the results showed only the match on the tail end ... the end that is often optional and for which the user has no way of knowing if it is or is not in the Factbook name as Factbook names are not standardized.
Replacing partial front matches with only partial back matches does not work and never has. It is exacerbated by the inconsistency in naming and the lack of a way to report missing aliases.
