Is there not value at the "Community Pricing" page on Logos 4 site?

Correct me if I’m wrong but it looks like it is a good opportunity to build your library and get in on a price break because if Logos has receives enough interest (in the form of bids) they will move it to publication. Therefore, those of us that made a bid are winners as we keep that lower price and receive the product at the price when it is completed. NOW, if I’ve misunderstood the concept, please help to correct my thinking.

You are correct Larry this is a great way to build your library at a bargin price. There is about 5 hours left at the time of this posting to get Whyte's Bible Characters at $12. This is $100 cheaper than the list price and if enough people jump on board it may even be running out the door for $9. Larry is on a winner, don't miss out joining him, there is more than one winner when with community pricing, everyone who bids is a winner.

It's a win-win-win situation with an extended feel-good factor:

You feel good when you bid high and see the resource reach 100% at a much lower price. [:O]
You feel good when it goes up to PrePub at a higher price. [:)]
You feel good when it is finally published at a much higher price. [:D]

Buying through Community Pricing is what they call, over in the US, a "no-brainer".

No, Larry. The idea is that everyone bids what they are willing to pay for the resource. The actual cost is determined as the lowest possible price based on the number of bids. What you bid is what you bid.

I agree with the great value available through Community Pricing. Anyone who isn't participating is really losing out.

That's a good reason to always place a reasonable bid. If you bid too low, you miss out entirely. If you ever buy the product, it will be at a much higher price.

That way, you do not miss out on something that goes to pre-pub on fairly short notice, like Whyte's Bible Characters.

There is no downside (that I can see) on bidding high. If you place a high bid, you still only pay what the product actually winds up leaving CP pricing at. At the worst, you can always cancel your order.

A low bid does not advance the product and increases the risk that you will miss out on a bargain on the product. If you are going to bid anything, you should bid at a reasonable amount.

$12 for 1700 pages is certainly a reasonable amount.

Usually they do, but not always.

Also, if the title crosses on Wednesday morning, and the book closes two days later on Friday, the window to see the email is very short.
