I have Gold package, but in "About Logos" it only shows "Base Package Library Logos 10 Library". Shouldn't this refer to the Gold package that I own?

The About panel is not intended to list the specific packages you own. It is only attempting to let you know whether or not you own any package for the current major version of the product (Logos 10 currently).

No need to answer and not disagreeing either.

But if I understand, (in About), 23.x describes the software engine, latest available to all. So far so good.

But what is the significance of 'Logos 10'? I can buy Logos 8 (libraries). Mix and match L7 with L9 datasets/features. Should I have 'Logos 10'? Or no matter.

It's not that easy, as you can have a dozen different gold editions of Logos 10, and then back the versions over the years. Some people may have had a gold edition of L9 or L8 but decided to only go for Bronze in L10 etc. The individual functionalities are licensed separately (and some of them are now starting to be available for purchase individually) and L10 "gold" is a bundle of those in a Full Feature pack plus a library, which is added to the functionalities and books you owned from prior versions etc. You could come to own or have access to a specific functionality (such as text compare, or workflow editor, or images in notes) by various ways, which actually don't matter for the software, it detects you have a license for that functionality, good.

I think that if you have gold or above, the little dot is green because you have all of the features. I use Faithlife Connect, so I cannot be sure.

    Probably right ... I'm a yellow-dotter.

Thank you for your response.  So what I pointed to is just indicating software, not library contents.  Is there a way within the software to view what is attributed to Gold vs other levels?  I think my confusion comes from the fact that there seems to be a focus on titles available to purchase rather than those that are available as a part of my package level.  I just committed to spending a lot of money on the Gold package, so I am not thrilled about being presented with more to buy.   Hopefully all this makes sense.  Maybe my mental approach to using the software needs to change.

No, Logos does not tell you internally what is included in Gold vs what you would have gotten if you bought Silver. You would have to go to the product pages and tag them yourself, although I am not really sure what purpose this would serve [you can use this]. I have Logos 10 Baptist Gold, but also had Logos 9 Gold, so a lot of the resources a new customer would have gotten in Logos 10 were already mine, so I did not pay for them (Logos pro-rates the cost of new packages based on what you own).

Gold gives you all of the features of Logos, plus a lot of books. Of course you can always buy more books! But only you know what you need.

If you have only recently purchased it, you have 30 days to return it and get a smaller package. My purchasing strategy is to look at the list of books in each Logos package and make an Excel spreadsheet where I list what they would be worth to me. If the package costs less than that total and I can afford it, I buy it. It was by this logic that I did not buy Logos 10 Gold. I own all but 45 of the resources, and so the cost to me would be $96.93. But I added up the value to me of the ones I was interested in and it was less than $100, so I will wait. Silver and Baptist Gold were slam dunks for me and I could afford them with dynamic pricing, so I did.

So what I pointed to is just indicating software, not library contents.

The place where you are looking in the About panel indicates three things.

    1. Your software version (v23, v24, etc), intended to let you know that you are not running the latest version of the software.
    2. Whether or not you own a feature set from the most recent major product release (Logos 9, Logos 10, and eventually Logos 11, etc). This can be important because a newer feature set may enable or enhance features in the latest version of the software.
    3. Whether or not you own a library collection from the most recent major product release. This can be important because base packages can be one of the most cost effective ways of growing your library over time.

None of these answers the question about specific contents. The Feature Set display will give some indication of which tier of features you have purchased, but even that is not specific, as there are many packages that might meet the qualifications of (for example) "many features".

Those last two care more about "did you know Logos 10 has been released" and far less about "which packages have I purchased".

Thank you all for the replies!  I think I just need to get more acclimated to Logos and the package structures.  Have a Blessed day!
