Search by File names / File size info

How search a resource by it's file name? I am trying to cull large resources from my library. I can see the file names in my windows folder, but I can't identify them all within the program.

I see this used be the solution - but I don't see the results showing up the same in L10.

Welcome to the forums. The solution offered was using the File Explorer of Windows rather than Logos. Creating a Full Path & Filename (logos.com) may be of help.

Yes, thank you. I can see the file name and information in windows file explorer, but I don't know which resource that is within logos. The file names are often just a jumble of letters instead of the title of a resource. How can I find the resource within Logos if I have the file name?

That only works in cases where the resource ID happens to match the resource file name, which is not always the case.

There is a way to get the information you want, but how easy it is to use will depend on your level of comfort with using the Windows Console. You can find out the resource ID in Windows from a Window Console using the "type" command and passing it the filename you are interested in. For example: type 9781493434329.logos4

This will list some information like this:

LRES01
LLS:9781493434329
LLS:9781493434329
2023-01-18T18:52:53Z
logos
2011-10-05T00:00:00Z

The second line has the resource ID. You can paste that in your command box in the application to open the resource, which will allow you to determine the title in your library.

Note that some resources are datasets, and they aren't visible in your library, and can't be set as cloud resources. These will all have an extension other than .logos4 (although there are some resources that show up in your library that also do not have a .logos4 extension.)

For files that are not .logos4, is there a way to see where that is being used?

For example, I see a file BiblicalPlacesMaps.lbsmps that is 413MB. How do I know if I can delete it?

Also, is there any other way to sort resources by file size?

There is a program called "Ultra Search" found here .... Once downloaded and you use it....you can type in LLS* and find a lot of the Logos files.

The sort by file size is a Windows function - I think it is click on heading.

For files with extensions other than .logo4 when I don't recognize it, I remove the extension and try to open it via the command box. If it doesn't open, I assume it is a dataset and cannot be removed.

If you remove that resource, it will just get downloaded again.

Some of the datasets are listed in the About panel in the software, but that's not a complete list, and it doesn't really tell you what the dataset is for.

Library information shows Downloaded: command-click on Downloaded has pop-up: Remove from device that can be clicked for removal (free up space)
