How are notes designed to work?

Hello,

Right now I have a single (bible) note file which I started on "that other operating system" it of course is large and I find it is slow. When I select text to attach a note my file opens up to the first note in the file. Is this a bug or am I using the note feature wrong.

I am considering opening up a new note file for each book of the Bible and this may solve the problem???? I use notes visually meaning I like them in the text so I can see info I have gathered.....

Or... should I just hold off on notes in mac L4 till its ready.....

I suspect different people use them differently. I suspect, given the style and nature of your study, a great many approaches could be useful: For instance, if I were studying the pastoral epistles, I would create a notes document called "Pastoral Epistles, Q3 2010". This would allow me to differentiate it from my study of the pastoral epistles back in 2003, but any reference attached notes would show up when I opened that passage in a Bible.

An approach like this would also allow one to create a note document for a topical study, a word study or, or a particular written & published study (Precepts, Beth Moore, etc). In each case, I'd probably create a document for each study "event". That's how I organize my brain, so that's what works for me.

Thanks for your response (and your hard work) I can see that I am not using notes to their full potential. L4 mac is a wonderful blessing.
