Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10+ Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is inspired by the forum post: note tags not working right - Logos Forums

As a general rule, when Logos/Verbum presents you with a pick list, you MUST select from the pick list. Yes, there are some that will take the first value in the pick list but the safe everywhere practice is to pick from the pick list. Complaints, e.g. about the universal input box (command bo, go box), are often because this practice has been ignored. Examples with the item to select highlighted in red:

Open a book:

Open a tool:

Open Factbook to an American person

Add a Factbook tag:

Search all my books that I have tagged with "hermeneutics"

Add a tag not previously used. Note that you MUST select the new tag in the pick list not just type in the new value in the input box.

Set resource for a syntax search on cantillation. Note that a short list is everything in my library that can be searched through a syntax search.

This is only a small sampling of the selection menus used within Logos/Verbum.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
