Group of Commentaries on one tab

I am trying to find a way (if there is one) to put all of my commentaries in a tabular format where they will open to a biblical text as in John 1:1-18 on one side and commentaries on the other.

Perhaps you might explain where the 'Passage Guide' doesn't  do what you want?
