Thursday night i installed a new book off an L3 cd. i noticed that it shows a request to merge. If i understand it correctly merge is working again. Do you suggest doing the merge? Or a rebuild index?

I think the Developers can look at the log of the minimizing problem because there have been other "unattended" crashes without further implications for the installation. Merge will consolidate a supplemental index into a single main index. It is working well in 4.0d and is faster than a rebuild, so the choice is yours.
