Disappointed in Logos 10 Fundamentals

Logos 9 Fundamentals was a better package. Morris Proctor always recommended the Bible Knowledge Commentary. This is absent from the Logos 10 Fundamentals. Also Logos 10 fundamentals has about $400 dollars less of resources. Can you add back the Bible Knowledge Commentary to the Logos 10 Fundamentals?

Morris Proctor always recommended the Bible Knowledge Commentary.

It looks like the New Bible Commentary has taken its place in Fundamentals, which in my opinion is a much higher quality conservative commentary than the BKC. It's edited by D.A. Carson who is very respected among conservatives. I think Faithlife assumed it was giving users an upgrade along with freshening up the package. It will serve the same purpose as the BKC, it's a whole bible commentary you can prioritize to help you easily jump to the rest of your commentaries, per MP's recommendation.

Give the NBC a try and you might like it. If you still want the BKC, try buying one of the legacy starter packages which are pretty cheap and almost always have the BKC in it.

Your best way to buy the Bible Knowledge Commentary is in a Legacy Library. The cheapest depending on your library may be:

My single commentary of choice is the Moody Bible Commentary. There's just no way that would get into the Fundamentals package. I bought my wife the Starter package and it's not in there either. So I expect to be making sure she gets it.

I had nothing like Logos as a new Bible student. You still have no idea how much you actually do have.

Interesting enough the 3(three) one-volume commentaries that I check with each passage I preach are BKC, MBC, & NBC. [already mentioned in this thread]. I have listed them in my preferred order. They are all reliable, I just find them germaine in the order listed.

Hi John,

What Morris was trying to say was to prioritize a "Single Volume" commentary "Like" the BKC as most base packages included it.

He would also say if you did not have that one look for the JFB commentary as it would work as well https://www.logos.com/product/720/commentary-critical-and-explanatory-on-the-whole-bible

The NBC is also a single volume commentary and both it and the JFB *ARE* included in the current fundamentals package.

Also a quick note that it appears the BKC *IS* included in almost (if not) all of the current and Legacy base packages.

The Eerdmans Bible Commentary is another good option. That's my top prioritized commentary because it has the whole (protestant) bible and also includes the Apocrypha and 1 Enoch. It's available in Logos 10 Anglican Starter and in many legacy packages.
